Recently, I encountered a friend using an Android phone on a $50/month service plan and experiencing numerous issues. This prompted me to share my positive experiences with Visible.com
Longevity: I have used Visible for years with great success.
Recommendations: I have recommended it to many others who also report great success.
Cost: $25 or $45 per month flat rate.
Flexibility: No contract. The phone is never locked, so you can leave anytime without hassle—just stop paying when you want to leave.
Ownership: Owned by Verizon.
Network: Runs on Verizon towers.
Overview of MVNOs
Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in the United States lease wireless telephone and data services from the three major cellular carriers: AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile US, and Verizon. Typically, MVNO customers experience higher speeds on average until they hit a cap, after which speeds are throttled.
Visible Plans
Visible offers two plans:
Base Plan
$25 per month for one line.
Unlimited data, talk, and text to Mexico and Canada.
Unlimited hotspot data.
Visible+ Plan
$45 per month.
High-speed data.
International perks.
Discount on Verizon home internet.
Unlimited data roaming in Mexico and Canada.
Technical Note: Visible is technically not an MVNO as it owns its own towers. When I switched to the Visible+ plan, my network's internet speeds significantly increased.
However, I have purchased my last three phones from Back Market. Currently, the same phone (Pixel 7, unlocked) is available for as low as $220.
For more details, visit: Back Market - Google Pixel 7 Caution: NOT EVERY PHONE MODEL IS COMPATIBLE WITH VISIBLE. So if you are going to purchase something on Back Market, first check to see if it is sold on Visible.
Personal Experience
Over the years, my "ex" wife and I traveled extensively across the country. During this time, she was on Verizon’s costly network, while I experimented with cheaper networks. Her service was consistently reliable, whereas mine was often hit or miss.
Verizon coverage, in my experience, has proven supreme. However, my current residence, 8 miles NW of Lisbon, Ohio, has very poor Verizon coverage—almost nil. Therefore, when at home, I use my phone on Wi-Fi to make and receive calls. As soon as I leave the park, my coverage improves significantly.
Finally: If Anyone actually choose to switch to Visible, check with me for a current referral code and we both save some money.
