*November 2024*
In an evening of November 2024, I had a conversation with Bonnie Landers, during which she shared several family recollections. I felt it was important to document these memories before they faded from my own.
Bonnie recounted the story of Paul Claire Jellison Jr., who experienced a significant head injury during his early years. Following the accident, he frequently suffered from headaches and occasional episodes of fainting. Over time, his temperament reportedly changed, becoming increasingly volatile.
The situation reached a breaking point when his behavior toward his mother became intolerable. In response, his father ultimately expelled him from the family home. Shortly thereafter—though the exact timing is unclear, whether it was the same day or several days later—Paul was hitchhiking when tragedy struck. A driver stopped to pick him up, but as the vehicle approached, Paul was struck. It is believed that he had fainted and collapsed in front of the oncoming vehicle.
This poignant story serves as a testament to the struggles and tragedies that shaped Paul’s life.
