**A Long Night of Programming: New Features and Adjustments**
After a marathon coding session, I’ve rolled out some updates to enhance Mom’s daily routine and keep everything in sync. Here’s what’s new:
1. **Key West Cruise Port Settings**
Alongside finalizing the Key West Cruise port arrival and departure settings, I’ve added a new feature to Mom’s Echo Show: a **"Brush Your Teeth" reminder**. Every morning at **7:00 AM**, a prominent sign will display on her Echo Show, reminding her to brush her teeth. This reminder will stay on screen for **10 minutes**.
2. **Morning Video Wake-Up Adjustment**
To accommodate the new reminder, I’ve shifted Mom’s morning video wake-up from **7:00 AM** to **6:50 AM**. This ensures the wake-up video doesn’t overlap with the teeth-brushing prompt. Note: My home monitor mirrors Mom’s setup, so I’m seeing the same **6:50 AM** wake-up video and **7:00 AM** reminder. That was 14 routine time changes. ugh
3. **Power-On Time Change**
To align with these updates, I’ve moved the Echo Show’s power-on time to **6:45 AM**. This gives the system enough time to boot up before the morning routine begins. Since my sister frequently drops in on Mom between **7:00 AM and 7:30 AM**, I’ve asked her to wait until at least **7:05 AM** to ensure Mom has seen and acted on the brush-your-teeth reminder.
4. **Birds Video Sync to Live Stream**
I’ve also synced Mom’s **9:00 AM** and **6:00 PM** birds video to the live stream. The idea is to have something "quiet" playing during video conversations. Little did I expect watching birds in a bird feeder would captivate her attention so much. Now, when Mom gets excited during her echo show conversations with my sister or Aunt Bonnie, you guys can watch the live stream on your phones (I know you have it book marked by now) to see exactly what she’s seeing at those times. This should make it easier to follow along with her reactions and discussions.
