Sunday plans: "Every morning brings new potential, but it's what we do with it that makes a difference."
#SundayGoals
Yesterday, Saturday, was filled with some intriguing events. In the morning, I received a call from my sister, who mentioned that her video call revealed there was a man lying in Mom's bed! Thankfully, the staff managed to get him out of there.
Later on, when I arrived, to my surprise, Mom was completely engrossed in a show I had previously programmed, featuring the Baltic Sea Philharmonic. I've never seen her so captivated before! She kept exclaiming, "Look at this! Look at the way he conducts—he uses his whole body, his eyes, his facial expressions. Everyone is watching him!" Throughout my visit, she remained completely wrapped up in the performance, so I decided to put it back on again today for her to enjoy once more.
I also noticed the wonderful job Rick and Eleanor did while tidying up the room. Those big labels on the drawers are fantastic! When I dropped off some socks El got her, Mom couldn’t stop talking them. You guys really did a great job with that!
One more interesting thing happened: my routine is to shut down the room at 8:00 p.m. every night—lights off, TV off. Occasionally, I hear someone using voice commands to ask Alexa to turn the lights on and off during the night. It's not unusual for me to witness that happen two or three times, but last night was a bit different. Right after 8:00 p.m., someone turned both the lights and the TV back on. I just thought that was an interesting occurrence!
Also I adjusted her evening programming for today to FOX at 6:30 PM (Superbowl).
Finally on a personal note. A week ago I started using a calorie counter app (MyFitnessPal). Combined with morning Elliptical workouts and three days a week at the Yyyyy MCA.... I am crushing it!
