**Summary:**  

Last night, the care facility contacted my brother, Rich, to inform him that Mom had aspirated after drinking something from the refrigerator. Aspiration is the accidental inhalation of foreign material into the lungs, which is a serious medical concern. In older people this frequently leads to Pneumonia... and worse.

**Details:**  

- The facility notified Rich that they were calling a doctor to assess Mom’s condition.  

- Approximately 20 minutes before Aunt Bonnie’s call with Mom, I contacted her to update her on the situation.  

- After speaking with Mom and the staff members attending to her, Bonnie informed me that the facility planned to administer a speech test to Mom. The reason for the speech test is unclear, but I am relaying the information as provided.

**Notes:**  

- Further updates on Mom’s condition and the results of the medical evaluation are pending.  

- I am acting as the messenger and will continue to share relevant information as it becomes available.
