I am posting... what I sent to the WhatsApp groups as I want it documented and shareable for future reference.
Mom's morning breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 AM. I have set a banner to appear on her Echo Show at 7:30 AM to remind her to eat. Today, at 8:05 AM, I entered her room and found her sitting there. When I asked if she had eaten breakfast, she replied, "No. Why, did you bring me some?" I then wheeled her to the dining area for breakfast, which was nearly over for most residents. Fortunately, when the staff saw me bring her in, they promptly provided her with a plate.
**Lessons Learned:**
1. Extend the Echo Show reminder banner duration from 10 minutes to 30 minutes to better ensure Mom sees it. (done)
2. Consider changing one of my visiting days to Sundays, when staffing is lower, to better assist with her needs. (done)
PS: And no, I did not say anything to anyone. They're understaffed and overwhelmed. Nothing good will come from making someone feel bad. Maybe we need to drop in on her on weekends at about 7:35 to make sure she has gone to eat.
As it is that time of year I am getting suggestions and help to know when to program Mom's TV for the Steelers games. I found the Steelers calendar stream and added it to this daily page; at the bottom of this page. I wish it were as easy as programming one Alexa Routine for each game; but it does not work like that. Each routine scheduled does the event at that time WEEKLY (not just once) so I am constantly adding / waiting for the event to happen / deleting. Ugh
Last night while working on this stuff I was playing a PBS show.... added it to moms events weekly on Mondays at 2 pm.
