Tuesday: Don't count the days, make the days count! #TuesdayGoals
This morning I RE-INSTALLED mom's Echo Show in such a manner I maintained the state law of...
ONE OUTLET / ONE DEVICE / NO EXTENSION CORDS (well two out of three anyway)
I unplugged the TV from the outlet behind the dresser and used that for the show. Then I removed the dot (remember "Video On" no longer needed)... from the outlet behind mom's bed and used that for the TV (with a lot of stretching). This involved sliding the TV to the left to get the cord to reach the (ahem extension cord). To even move the TV I had to undue the Lakeview cable connection. (which incidentally Rich... if we are paying for that we can cancel it. Everything she sees all day streams from the internet.)
Anyway Mission Accomplished: All future calls will again originate from the Echo Show
The extension cord I took in is a 6 ft cord I had from home, I "THOUGHT" would be good enough, and it would have if not for the damn baseboard electric heater. (green arrow). The extension cord + TV cord is not long enough to lay on the floor, but just long enough to lay all along the heater. UGH!
For now I "scotch" taped it up (triple layers) on all the furniture. (red arrows). I am not comfortable with this as it is an accident waiting to happen. I will buy an 8 foot cord and take it in Friday and configure it to run along the floor.
During my last visit I had placed a store bought plastic shim under the corner of the chest holding the fridge. Well today it is gone. So for the moment I used the door stop seen here. Also all the Velcro tapes I had keeping the fridge on the table are long ago quit working. I need to install some angle brackets. it is just a matter of time before she pulls that fridge down on herself.
I brought stuff to restock, but I have noticed my past few visits, she is no longer consuming everything between visits. And she is not touching the prunes in spite of me having put them in the fridge. Sis I think that container is an epic failure. I brought it home and will put the prunes in something else (original packaging?)
Of course I left some goodies. Note the pink Kazoos Mary Ann got her! (she is too cool)
