Change of plans. Previously, my goal was to sell this place, use the funds to purchase a fifth wheel, spend the winter in Florida, and ultimately get myself back out west next summer—specifically the Utah area. I love the wide-open scenery out there.
However, recent changes are shifting everything.
My mother's recent complications mean she will never return to Lakeview Assisted Living. So, I'll be sticking around here for the foreseeable future. Even if my home sells, I'll still get a fifth wheel and live out of that.
I'm a huge fan of YouTube videos, especially those centered around old railroads—and in particular, the Goat Canyon Trestle. There are dozens of videos about this spot in Southern California, a place I've always wanted to visit. I recently realized the area, and the surrounding camping resorts sit at about the same latitude as Charleston, Georgia. That means nice weather even in winter.
Florida is out. Now, I'm eyeing the De Anza Springs area in California as my first destination.
There are tons of YouTube videos showing guys with their contraptions riding the tracks to the Goat Canyon Trestle, but it's also doable on bicycle—especially an e-bike, which I have.
So when I finally get out of here, it's California or bust! Wish me luck.
