I have viewed many videos of people traveling the railroad tracks to view the Goat Canyon Trestle most with home made contraptions. I will get there myself one day. It's interesting that the two most significant, and challenging, railroads that fascinate me were both inspired by the same event: the Panama Canal.
The San Diego and Arizona Railroad in California and Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway to Key West, each built by a millionaire of the time, were each expected to be highly profitable ventures. Deep-water ports in San Diego and Key West would serve as the first U.S. stops for ships passing through the canal.
Remarkably, neither one proved to be a financial success.
I have included a "Comments" section at the bottom of the page. As I am finding more RR related videos I am adding them and will note the addition in the comments. At this point I am adding ANYTHING RR related. Let me know in the comments your favorite(s) AND the link to anything you find of interest. Thanks All.
