On Saturday Aug 30 I drove up to Phoenix NY (just North of Syracuse) to spend a week with Sister.
About an hour into the drive, my bum leg was aching so I pulled over at the first rest stop, popped some Motrin, stretched my legs, and hit the road again. For the rest of the trip, I stopped every 30–45 minutes to walk a bit and take more Motrin when needed—yep, that bum leg of mine was not happy! I usually stick to short 45-minute drives to my mom’s, so this trip taught me an hour is my limit. Anyway, a 5 1/2 trip took me 9 hours.
Her place is amazing! My sister’s got a room and bathroom at one end, and I’ve got my own room and bathroom at the other—perfect setup! She showed me the garage, and I was already picturing my ideal computer nook. I might just stay here for a while. Honestly, I’m half-tempted to sell my house and move up here—this place is just *too* nice! 😄
On Monday, Labor Day we visited my Sisters Son Adam and Family for a din din by the pool. Of course I brought my drone and Adam brought out his drone. We both flew them and Adam crashed into the side of the house (he claimed his battery died...ahem).
Tuesday was the first of my daily morning trips to Home Depot. Years ago dad taught me, do not visit my sister without bringing your tool box. (I brought three).
On Friday, I visited Phoenix and videoed the Draw Bridge and Locks. After looking them over, I would have sworn these were no longer working however Google says different. I did notice an attendant there. I would have loved to see this in action. I have seen locks work before; but this one is up against the drawbridge and they must work in unison.
My sister had to work during the week and she has a sweet setup in the corner of he open main room. If there is one thing I learned I know why she gets the big bucks; She handles every problem caller with calm and grace and puts every one at ease immediately. She is good at what she does.
Finally I cannot thank sis enough for a wonderful stay. She kept feeding me well and I kept returning from Home Depot with new parts (and Milk Shakes)!
Thanks again Kathy
