Ever since reading about foods that fight arthritis inflammation a couple years back, I've adopted a new breakfast routine. Every morning, I prepare the same meal: potatoes, onion, and an egg, all fried in olive oil, and add a serving of "dark greens and tuna fish".
I've noticed a significant difference in my knee pain when I stick to this diet. If I stray from these "greens and fish", the pain in my knees returns. It takes a couple of weeks back on the diet for the knee pain to subside again. In addition to my breakfast staples, I favor other anti-inflammatory foods like nuts, beans, and fruits.
On the other hand, I avoid foods on the "bad" list, including red meats, packaged convenience foods like cookies, chips, and microwave dinners, and whole milk. I'm also very diligent about checking labels to avoid saturated fats. (well I still eat some cookies now and then)
By sticking to these dietary choices, I've managed to keep my arthritis pain at bay and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
