Some years back, while living in Florida, I had one of those awful colonoscopies. Upon exiting, the doctor advised me to eat lots of fiber for a healthy colon, recommending berries. Since then, I've been pretty good at keeping some sort of morning routine with Blueberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, or Blackberries as part of my daily intake.
In Florida, at one of the higher-end grocery stores (Publix), they occasionally stocked a brand of blackberries called Sweet Karoline. They weren't always in stock, but when they were, I grabbed them up. Somehow, each and every berry in the container was always sweet like candy. I loved them.
Of course, after moving up here, I could never find them (and I looked). So, I bought some blackberries the other day at this local mom-and-pop dive market called "Super Duper." The next morning, I added a handful to my morning cereal, and after the first bite into a berry, I turned and looked at the package. Imagine my surprise to see Sweet Karoline.
