Memorial Day Weekend: Friday's Visit with Mom
This past Friday's visit with Mom was exceptional. After restocking her fridge with 6 more Cranberry juices and 6 more Chocolate Milks and some of mom's "Broccoli Salad Recipe" which I made for her...(plus cookies).... As I have her "Echo Show" display programmed to play various artists at different times of the day, it happened that Tom Jones was starting to play when I got there.
The first song played was "Delilah" by Tom Jones. Not sure if you remember that one; I don't think she remembered it either. But boy, did she laugh reading the lyrics as they went by karaoke style. I guess it could be funny.
At break of day when that man drove away I was waitingI crossed the street to her house and she opened the doorShe stood there laughingI felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my DelilahWhy, why, why, Delilah?So before they come to break down the doorForgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take any more
Because of such a beautiful day, I just had to take her outside. I don't think she'd been outside in months. She loved it when the sun hit her. She just loved the warmth of that sun.
Anyways, once we got to the patio overlooking the field, we sat there for a while. I started playing music from my phone and found a hat in my car for her to shade her eyes. She thoroughly enjoyed being outside for a while.

After that, we went back inside and I played some of her favorite puppet videos by Jeff Dunham. She just laughs from watching those puppets.
Anyways, it was a very great visit. Hopefully, I have more of these outdoor visits in the future.
PS: Rich, I replaced her missing straw with a proper identical replacement.

I stopped in during lunch today and noticed that Mom seemed to be in a disgusted mood at her lunch table. Last time, I thought it might have been the food, but today I realized it's because she doesn't care for the company of one of her table mates. This person tends to spout off nonsensical things, likely due to her mental state rather than her personality. Mom only ate about half of what was served to her. It may be that her dining environment is affecting her mood and appetite, so I'll keep an eye on this moving forward.
